Toxicologic and Environmental Emergencies Module

Introduction:

Welcome to the Toxicologic and Environmental Emergencies module, part of the Emergency Medicine Core Training (EMCT) series. In this module, we will review the many exogenous agents that can disrupt normal body functions. There is no anatomy and physiology section for this non-body system module, but there will be discussion of mechanisms of action for the various toxins encountered. In the end, as usual, we will use scenario-based learning to review presentations and managements of patients presenting with complications of various exposures. By the end of this module, you will have a good understanding of the common toxic and environmental emergencies you are likely to encounter in your practice.
