Endocrine & Hematology/Oncology Module
Introduction:
Endocrine and Hematologic/Oncologic disorders are a class of diseases that are often nebulous to the emergency provider. Knowledge of the specific pathophysiology of many of the endocrine disorders and the host of chemotherapeutic agents used to treat oncologic conditions are not particularly relevant to emergency medicine. There are, however, some critically important details that an emergency provider does need to know when caring for these patients. We will cover some of those here.
