What does EMCT provide?
EMCT is an academic curriculum providing a comprehensive foundation in
emergency medicine. The program is designed to prepare non-EM trained
physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to work confidently and competently in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care setting. EMCT includes:
- 14 online modules covering the entire breadth of emergency medicine.
- 162 hours of emergency medicine CME (ACEP and AMA approved AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™, accredited by the AACME)
- a mix of video, slide show presentations, text, challenge questions, helpful pop-up cards, final assessments, and more.
- a self-paced, multifaceted educational experience that appeals to the broad range of learners.
- scenario-based learning at the end of every module, which enables learners to solidify knowledge by working through actual EM cases.
- 8 hours of DEA MATE substance use disorder education, required for obtaining or recertifying for DEA registration.
- a total of 16.5 Trauma and Critical Care educational hours
- 2 stroke care educational hours
- ability for educational supervisors to follow the progress of their trainees.
- a host of critical emergency procedure instructional videos, as they are performed on actual patients.

The American College of Emergency Physicians designates this Enduring material for a maximum of 162 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This activity is also approved by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board for 162 CE hours, including 39 procedural CE hours and 37.5 pharmacologic CE hours.
